Now that I’ve found a job, I have no idea what to do with myself. There’s the inevitable moving-related stress, which encompasses furniture hunting, dealing with idiotic management, and obsessing about coordinating logistics. There’s wrapping things up at work, but honestly, I think I’ve got it under control, and no one is even going to BE here my last week due to vacation schedules.
So now I’m just waiting. I have to get a new phone before I leave. I’m on Verizon, and have an ancient LG phone that can talk and text and nothing else. I want a phone with a QWERTY keyboard and the ability to access email/facebook. I don’t even know the proper terminology for internet capable phones. 3G? Anyway, anyone have recommendations?
There’s a million other sundry things I need to do. I’m hyper, nervous, and impatient, and I expect to remain this way for at least the next month. The sooner I accept that, the sooner I can calm down!

verizon’s offering the blackberry curve as one of their free smartphones right now. that’s a pretty good choice. i’m a total apple fangirl, though, so it pains me to not suggest cashing in your verizon phone and joining the dark side with the iphone…

First of all, CONGRATS ON THE JOB! That is SO SO wonderful. I’ll be in DC at the end of October! My brother lives there so I’ll be visiting and celebrating my 30th birthday there.
Anyway, as for phones, the Droid Incredible is, well, incredible. My mum has one and a couple of friends have it and it’s really cool. It’s through Verizon. Verizon also has another Droid phone that’s not as fancy, but still has all the internet/email capabilities.

It’s all going to be awesome. Exciting. Glamorous.
And I suggest you get a Blackberry. I love mine and wouldn’t part with it for the world. I lost it in a wall once and had to jump through hoops to replace it. I would have jumped through those hoops on fire if need be. FIRE, I say.

I vote for a Droid also. I switched from Verizon in order to get an iPhone, and I fully intend to go back to Verizon for the Droid once my contract is up. (I like the iPhone, but AT&T’s service sucks.) I don’t love Blackberries, but it’s really a matter of personal preference. If I were you I would go into the Verizon store and play with all the smartphones.
