Go for it, Rachel! So what if you’ll earn half of what you’re earning now? You’ll be twice as happy so it makes complete economic sense.
And you are so right about that deceptive “entry level” misnomer.

Job hunting is one of the worst things to have to do. It’s excruciatingly painful and hurts the ego. And the pocketbook–just think of the clothes you bought as investment in your future.

Job hunting is the worst right now. I know your pain. I want to get a new job but I am noting finding anything. I’m not looking for more money, I’m looking for better hours and possibly a better commute. Even looking in the field I’m working in now, it’s hard to find anything. I wish you a TON of luck in getting a great job in DC! That’s so easy to say… boy does the job hunt suck. I recently went through that, and ended up somewhat settling for what I hope turns out to be a “stepping stone” job in a less than desirable location. But like you (thanks for reminding me) i’m trying to be positive and focus on saving money and looking forward as much as possible. Keep your blog readers posted!
