Urgh, I remember being on someone's blog once reading a short he'd written in a slightly surreal/horror situation and it was really, really good. It was short, imaginative, creative; left you to own devices at the end and some readers had stopped by and commented stuff like "oh wow that's so cool! but what happens next?!" even though it was pretty obvious/left for you to decide. It really annoyed me that people just didn't seem to understand the entire concept and I just wanted to grab them by the shoulders and scream at them. But, I can be a snobby bitch sometimes...

anyway, your post reminded me of that, but just so you know, I TOTALLY get what you're saying!

you probably should see pulp fiction. it's good.

on this topic my wife was watching house and due to shitty tv mastering (dialogue volume oh so low UNTIL THE COMMERCIALS) i was listening to it, and i gotta ask if the hugh laurie thing is like the twilight vampire-industrial complex thing, because near as i can tell his character is a psychotic date rapist who limps, and thus is part of this fiction nexus that trades in physical/emotional submission games dressed up as romantic potential that's soaking drawers from coast to coast?

It wasn't bad. A little shout-out to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and 12 Monkeys...

But I don't like the direction House's character is taking AT ALL. House was good because he was a sarcastic misanthrope -- losing that element makes the show a bad doctor-based soap opera...
