Today, I am leaving work early to pick up my protege, Adam. We are going to see the new Friday the 13th movie.

 

I am psyched. I grew up loving the Friday the 13th series. I got back into the fandom in college, when Jason X (horrible, but horrible in a delicious way) came out. That was when I learned that they were FINALLY making “Freddy vs Jason,” a movie that I had heard vaguely discussed by the guy at the video store when I was maybe eight years old. And then when that movie came out in Summer of 2003, well it was the most exciting thing ever! I saw it twice on opening day! Most people probably thought it was a horrible movie, but I loved it because it had just enough little shout-outs to people who had followed the series to make me very happy.

 

So now the new one is out, and I haven’t really read anything about it. I used to get my info from this Friday the 13th Message Board that I posted on (yes, I was that into it) but alas, the message board no longer exists.

 

But I am excited for tonight, and very happy that I brought Adam in the fandom years ago.
